Strategic Power Competition vs Clash of Civilizations : Can the West Prevail?

When Russia invaded Ukraine some four years ago, the global power array was almost as clear as during the height of the Cold War : that being the Western Alliance, led by the United States, against the Moscow-centered East. However in the modern day context we have the breakup of the Soviet Union and the emergence of China as a looming superpower.

The Iran War has shifted this paradigm of great power competition into perspective. The Russians and Chinese are assisting Tehran, but not to their full capability, while there is a growing rupture occuring between President Trump and Europe’s leaders. So how does this situation impact the American-Iranian conflict? And what does it portend for the relations between the great powers?
