Lebanon : Between Armies and Ambassadors

The Lebanese terror organisation and Revolutionary Guard proxy Hezbollah joined the Israeli-Iranian War the day after Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei perished in Tehran. For forty days, the Lebanese front was secondary to the Iranian one, but with the onset of a ceasefire in the Persian Gulf, it has now moved to center stage.

While clashes in Southern Lebanon and air and rocket strikes on both sides of the Israeli border are happening in real time, the Ambassadors of the Jerusalem and Beirut governments have launched a preliminary phase of peace talks in Washington. As things currently stand, the five Army Divisions deployed by the IDF seem to have a fuller plate than the Diplomats.
