The on-again, off-again talks between the Trump administration and whoever is calling the shots in the Islamic Republic of Iran seem to be on-again for now, with risks to shipping ongonig in and around Hormuz but at least friction without fire between the two warring parties.

This does have an impact on the situation between Israel and Hezbollah. While a ceasefire was imposed by Washington per the condition set forth by Iran, and the IDF has limited its strikes to the southern part of Lebanon, neither Israel’s government nor its military can be expected to sit idly by while Hezbollah poses a real threat to its civilians and soldiers. So can this ceasefire be sustained and possibly even expanded?
