Israel vs Lebanon vs Iran’s Hezbollah : Beirut’s Bid for Sovereignty

As Israel celebrates its 78 years of independent existence as a Jewish State, its military fronts are unusually quiet, relative to their engagement since October 7, 2023. While the Iranian War’s next phase is subject to decisions primarily made by President Trump, the Beirut-Jerusalem relationship is complicated by the Lebanese Government’s fear of clashes with the Iranian proxy Hezbollah.

The upshot is that there are initial talks taking place between Ambassadors in Washington, but the resumption of fighting is still a closer reality than the emergence of peace.
