On Israel’s 73rd year history, no government has ever had to work harder to get to the starting line, but two and a half years after the political crisis began, and two and a half months since the latest elections, the Bennett-Lapid government is on the launching pad. It brings together under one roof improbable partners, Left and Right, religious and secular, Jews and Arabs. And while this government’s declared aspiration to unseat Netanyahu is pending a confidence vote in parliament next week, on Sunday – it remains to be seen whether this iota remains enough to keep the ideologically diverse coalition glued together for the long-hall.
