A case in point is the Nuclear deal being essentially renegotiated in Vienna between Iran and the parties to the 2015 agreement. If Russia is now in a hostile stance towards the United States and its allies, it may tilt towards Iran regardless of the Islamic Republic’s steady accumulation of enriched fissile material and ballistic missile arsenal.
