According to a secret internal Pentagon document leaked by the Washington Post, most of the US Four-Star Officers involved in recommending defense policy and executing political decisions recently warned the White House of the broader consequences of the focus on Iran.
In essence, the Chiefs and the Combatant Commanders outside of CENTCOM worry that even a victory over Iran could be Pyrrhic, due to the fact that threats coming from elsewhere could not be handled properly, especially munitions-wise.
