Will the United States call on Israel to Finish the Ayatollah Regime in Iran?
President Trump noted a few days ago that the Iran war will probably end right after the November 3rd Congressional Midterm elections. Around that time, the political calculus in both Washington and Tehran will presumably change.
With no realistic prospect of gaining an evident victory in the next seven weeks or so, Trump has no incentive to gamble on a swift strike to take out the extremist wing of the ruling clique. But might he try to have the best of both worlds by unleashing Israel to carry this out, possibly on the eve of its own elections or else during the week between the Israeli and US elections?
