Major-General Mickey Edelstein, who recently retired as a career officer but is often called up for active reserve duty, is a creative and thoughtful former Infantry, Paratroop and Comnando leader, who commanded special ground and air forces and other troops up to the Brigade and Division levels, fought in Lebanon, was in charge of the Gaza forces during two major operations, generated an organisational reform in the Special Forces community and had a central role in strengthening IDF-Pentagon relations as the Israel Defense Attache in Washington.
