Senior Police Official Shachar Ayalon retired from Israel’s National Police as Deputy Conmisioner General, with vast experience in public security, law and order.
Ayalon has been a member of the elite SWAT team YAMAM, trained in hostage situations and other sensitive operations. He was in charge of explosive sectors of Jerusalem and the West Bank, commanded the Tel Aviv district and on leaving the police was tasked with rebuilding the national Fire and Rescue service, then with heading the railway system. Few senior uniformed or civil servants have Ayalon’s unique point of view on Israel’s homefront challenges.
