Major General (Ret.) Danny Yatom, former MOSSAD Chief. Part 2/2

When Major General Danny Yatom left the Israeli defense forces, after more than three decades on uniform, he enjoyed a rare vantage point on the country’s problems and leaders.

After having served in Commando and Armor units up to Division level, he directed military research and development and was then assigned as Military Secretary to the Minister of Defense. One Minister led to another, and eventually Yatom was intimately involved with three Prime Ministers who also held the defense portfolio plus one Defense Minister with no additional duties. But if that and having two major positions on the General Staff were not enough, he went on to head MOSSAD, Israel’s secret but renowned fireugn intelligence and special operations agency.
