Born and raised in the Galillee Druze village of Hurfeish, he went to medical school under the auspices of the Israel Defense Forces, which he joined upon graduation, serving in infantry units and higher headquarters, with periods of residency and graduate studies, until he reached the very top, the position of Surgeon General, or Chief Medical Officer, of the IDF. General Bader has a lot of experience in humanitarian missions aboad, as well as in Israel’s border with Syria, taking care of victims of the Civil War there. As a civilian health administrator, Dr. Bader has just been appointed to run one of Israel’s most inportant regional hospitals, Kaplan Medical Center, serving the country’s population south of Tel Aviv.
