Yemen is the poorest Peninsula country, lacking the petroleum which made Saudi Arabia so rich. Some Yemeni tribes have therefore vied for power in the Capital, Sana’a, and beyond. Therefore, when the Saudis helped their neighboring Royals, Nasser’s Egypt stepped in to reinforce the rebels.
