The five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany, also known as the P5+1, have attempted in the past few years to reach an agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran on its nuclear program.
Even though an interim agreement has been signed between the parties in November of 2013; the P5+1 and Tehran have failed to reach a final status agreement on two self-imposed deadlines and are attempting to reach a new deadline by the first of March.
