When POTUS headed to New York earlier this week, he announced that he was about to decide the course of the seven-month Iran War. The choices he outlined were between a resumption of kinetic strikes, a continuation of economic strangulation, or a deal to end hostilities, the latter having a view to undercutting the Iranian nuclear ambition and safeguarding maritime activities in and out of the Persian Gulf.
The fighting between the Houthis and the Saudis on the other side of the Arabian Peninsula have certainly added further complications, as the leaders of the Mideast Arab nations are supposed to be guiding Trump in his brainstorming efforts. So what exactly are the geo-strategic threats currently clouding the summer skies of our region?
