As Israel entered 2021, there are several variables which will have a major impact on the road ahead for the new year. First and foremost, the prolonged ramifications of the so-called corona crisis in Israel, the crucial necessity to realize a somewhat obscure balance between health and economy. Attempting to realize this necessary balance may prove difficult without a stable government – which may – or may not - emerge from yet another round of elections, which are set to be held in March. Separately, Israel’s regional and global standing is seemingly faced with a number of significant challenges – from Jerusalem’s relations with Washington, on the one hand, to an Iranian regime in Tehran that overtly calls for – and covertly strives for - the destruction of the Jewish State.
