Israel-Gaza: Ongoing challenges amid international condemnations

Amid international condemnations of Israel's defensive measures vis-a-vis the violent riots along the Gaza Strip's border-fence, Jerusalem is seeking ways to alleviate an apparent humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. Israel's top defense officials have warned of Gaza's deteriorating economic situation – emphasizing "the prevention of a humanitarian catastrophe was unquestionably in Israel's interest."
