Israeli folk dance has been influenced by all the backgrounds that make up the nation of Israel. We will be introduced to Hora Yerushalaim, a traditional dance group, and Ensemble Ka'et, a modern dance group of religious men.
Hora Yerushalayim is a very old phenomenom in Jerusalem. The group focuses on performing and preserving traditional dances. Tens of thousands of dancers from Jerusalem and its surrounding areas have learned and performed folk dances in Hora Yerushalayim's groups.
There is also a dance group of religious Jewish men in Jerusalem. Ensemble Ka'et performs modern dance in Jerusalem and its surroundings. The dance topics are usually formed from religious themes.
