Israel is a Stop for Millions of Migratory Birds

Two times a year about 500 million birds use the narrow airspace of Israel on their migratory journey from a continent to another.

The greatest concentration of migratory birds can be found in the Hula Valley in Northern Israel. There is also another interesting bird project in Northern Israel. In the Gamla nature reserve in the Golan Heights, work is done in order to restore the population of vultures living on the cliffs.
