MG (Res.) Israel Ziv Fmr Operations Chief, IDF. Part 2

Major General Israel Ziv, who retired some years ago as a career officer but is on call for frequent advice to his younger brothers-in-arms, is first and foremost a paratrooper. From enlistment as a private soldier to running the infantry and paratroop corps as a Brigadier-General, he led troops at every level from squad to brigade, then moved on to command the Gaza Division and ended his service as the Israel Defense Forces Chief of Operations. He led from the front in numerous firefights, battles and campaigns and got a taste of military diplomacy when he ran the Defense Attaché’s office at Israel’s Washington embassy.
