Turkey, Terror vs civil freedoms

Turkey has been facing a wave of terror from both Islamic and Kurdish militant groups that seek to destabilize the country. It also withstood a military coup, back in July of last year, that thought to overthrow the government in Ankara, a move Turkish authorities blame on self-exiled cleric Fetullah Gulen. The challenging security situation has advanced a series of measures that has brought about the incarceration of tens of thousands of people that oppose the reigning government.

Today we will seek to analyze the challenges facing Turkey vis a vis the international concern of being able to protect the civil liberties of the country's population.

Guests Prof. Efraim Kam, Senior researcher, INSS, and Mr. Hay Eytan Cohen Yanarocak, Researcher, Moshe Dayan Center at TA University. Analyst Amir Oren.
