Israel’s National Security Interests and Trump’s 21 Point Gaza Plan
Today marks two years since the horrific massacre perpetrated by Hamas on Israel’s western Negev communities as well as the military units protecting them, and a ceasefire deal which includes a release of all remaining hostages is seemingly closer than ever before. Israeli, Egyptian, Qatari and Hamas delegations are currently ironing out the details involved in President Trump’s 21-point framework proposal, with results expected within the next few days.
Should the deal indeed be signed, what would the implications be for Israel’s national security interests, vis-a-vis Gaza, the broader Palestinian issue and beyond?
