When the Islamic Republic planned to act on its hegemonic ambitions, it set out to create a regional system of proxies in the Arabian Peninsula and the Eastern Mediterranean; the Mastermind being Kassem Suleimani of the Revolutionary Guards Quds Force and the Commander-in-Chief none other than the Supreme Leader Ali Khameini.
