Iran’s efforts to restart talks on JCPOA revival

The Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action (JCPOA), also referred to as the ‘2015 Nuclear deal’ with Iran, has been scrapped by the Trump administration almost five years ago. Since assuming office, the Biden Administration has not been able to resuscitated the agreement, despite obsessive efforts, as there was no meeting of the minds with the Islamic Republic hurriedly ratcheting-up its nuclear development far beyond civic application. The JCPOA seems to have been overtaken by events, by Iran drawn to the Russian-Chinese axis opposed to the US-led Western Camp and brutally oppressing its own citizens aspiring for freedom of tyranny. Yet while the deal is dormant, the European Union refuses to declare defeat and its High Representative for Foreign Affairs, who also serves as coordinator of the so-called JCPOA, is trying to find some acceptable formula. Can it be successful?
