On the 26th of February - this year: the Islamic Republic of Iran held its first Parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections, since Tehran signed an agreement on its nuclear program with world powers, an accord which lifted sanctions that have crippled its economy for years, on the one-hand, while on the other it signaled a significant rapprochement by Iran’s Western enemy that materialized a shift in a years old regional composition.
