The collapse of the Soviet Union was a significant phase also in the history of the State of Israel. Within only a few years about a million Jews left Russia and moved to live in Israel.
During this mass migration Finland functioned as a passage point for the Jews on their way to Israel. We will figure out what exactly Finland's role was in the aliyah, or the migration of the Russian Jews to Israel. We will also meet Russian Jews who travelled through Finland and hear about their memories of that time.
