Earlier this month, the European Union convened in Brussels for a meeting of representatives of mostly Arab and European nations and organizations, along with the United States and Japan. The agenda had to do with the humanitarian situation in Syria and the country’s political future, as well as the determination to keep fighting Daesh, the Arabic acronym for ISIL. Nevertheless, absent from this conference were three major players in the deadly Syrian game - Russia, Iran and Israel. The complex relationship in this triangle, and its impact on Bashar Assad’s regime, is the topic of discussion for today’s program.
