President Donald Trump's 21-Point Plan : the Future of Gaza
With most of the dead hostages finally back home for burial, the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire plan is reaching its conclusion, meaning that decisions regarding what’s next on the agenda are now imminent. Once the fate of the one hundred and fifty or so Hamas terrorists currently besieged in a Rafah tunnel is resolved, and the remaining four bodies have been returned, preparations for an American-led International Stabilisation Force can then move ahead. However, there are still many questions surrounding this issue; such as the exact make-up of this force, locations and missions still to be defined, and what role exactly will Turkey play, having leverage over Hamas but being hostile towards Israel? So is the disarmament of Hamas and a significant weakening of their grip over the Gaza Strip on the near horizon, per President Trump’s plan?
