Post snap-back Iran: Can it sustain another conflict with Israel?
The Western powers were neither deterred by Iran’s threats nor lured by its promises, as Britain, France and Germany, backed by a somewhat reluctant European Union, put in place the snapback mechanism of severe sanctions against Tehran, based on Iran's insistence on enriching its uranium dangerously close to weapons grade and its refusal to let the IAEA fully inspect its nuclear facilities. With both Israel and the US showcasing that they can strike the Iranian nuclear project at will, and President Trump publicly declaring his wishes for a peaceful Tehran to join an expanded Abraham Accords regional framework, are we closer to conflict or cooperation with the Islamic Republic?
