With the Vienna talks between Iran and parties to the 2015 nuclear deal speaking on behalf of the United States set to resume later this month, it is time to take stock on two levels. First of all, literally, how much fissile material do the Iranians have on-hand as they shorten at least one path to a Nuclear arsenal. Secondly, how far apart in the negotiations are Washington and Tehran, as they race towards the end of this year and with the understanding that even a weakened Joe Biden is a better interlocutor for Ali Khamenei than a Republican Party headed by Donald Trump.
