Two significant diplomatic events have simultaneously taken place in the Middle East recently, both following the recent airstrike in Qatar but each taking on a different direction. In Doha, regional representatives, mostly in the American Camp but also including the Iranian Foreign Minister, met in an Arab-Moslem conference to criticise the Israeli strike on the Qatar-based Hamas cockpit. And in Jerusalem, US Secretary of State Rubio showed his support for Israel’s Gaza war policy, which the Qatar strike was supposedly a part of. So how is this region now strategically aligned, with so many contradicting vectors?
