During the spring in Israel, Jerusalem Day is celebrated on the streets of the capitol city and at the Western Wall. The anniversary of Jerusalem's unification is overshadowed by current demands to redivide the city.
These demands come from many directions, such as foreign politicians and statesmen who believe they can so further assist in the resolution of the Israeli – Palestinian conflict. There are also Israelis who, by the division of the city, seek to end the struggle with the Palestinians.
