Egypt's role in the Middle East

Ahead of Egypt's presidential elections, scheduled for the last week of March, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi is seeking to bolster his domestic support, following his first term that was defined by both economic hardships and a military campaign against radical Islamic elements seeking to overthrow his regime.
