Israel and Russia celebrated last week 25 years of bilateral relations with a festive event in Moscow, attended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Vladimir Putin. During a meeting between the two leaders, Putin signified the Kremlin's perception of the Jewish state as a significant player in the Middle East; a region Russia considers of strategic importance.
