The prolonged and bloody Syrian civil war has resulted in millions of people internally displaced and some 3.2 million refugees fleeing abroad.
The dire situation which the refugees live in, has brought both additional fragility to an already instable region as well as a mass influx of illegal migrants, seeking a better life in Western countries. That of course a part, of a large number of refugees from neighboring countries – primarily Iraq.
