The raging conflict in Syria, which according to the United Nations has claimed more than 220,000 people, continues to riddle the international community when it comes to finding a solution that would deliver a lifeline to a country with no end in sight.
The country, which has become a playground for regional powers in their bid to cast a footprint in an apparent campaign for strategic dominance, has lost all sense of national unity that is required for any viable solution that could clear the fog of canons.
